Our Story
Our journey began with a vision to support houseboat owners and promote sustainable tourism in the beautiful region of Kerala. As an Alappuzhakkaran, our founder intimately understood the challenges faced by the industry and embarked on a mission to make a positive impact during his college years.
From humble beginnings as a static website, known as LakeTourKerala.com we quickly gained recognition, securing bookings and capturing the essence of Kerala's backwaters. In 2016, we rebranded as BackwaterTrip, unveiling a new name, logo, and enhanced commitment to empowering travel providers in securing bookings from multiple sources. Operating as a non-profit initiative, our primary focus was to uplift the travel industry and support local communities.
On April 26th, 2023, Eightgrid.AI officially registered the company in India, marking a significant milestone. In July 13, 2023, we proudly relaunched BackwaterTrip.com, introducing a dynamic website packed with the latest features and technologies, such as AI and machine learning, to provide a seamless booking experience for travelers.
